Independent guide to the Skipping Skills web course
Skipping is a skill. Forge it from first jump to freestyle.
Skipping Skills is an on-demand video course that walks you from sizing your rope to double unders, rope throws and combos. Short clips, a clear order, and a test at the end of every level so you know when to move on.

- 176 lessons
- 2.5 h of video
- 6 skill levels
One staircase, seven steps. A full rope curriculum in order.
Nothing is left to guesswork. You start with the rope itself (what kind, what length, how to straighten it), then climb six levels. Every level adds new footwork, crosses or multiples, and finishes with a skills test.

Lesson counts are taken from the public course outline and include tip videos and the skills test for each level. Several lessons are marked as free previews on the course page.
Stuck on a trick? There is a fix-it clip for that.
Most skills come with a pointer video that zooms in on the mistake people usually make: the arms that drift wide on a cross, the feet that land flat on a double under. Watch the main lesson, try it, then open the tip when it is not clicking yet.
- Tip videos sit right next to the skill they belong to
- Harder skills get two or three separate tips
- Rewatch as often as you like during your access year
Six tests. Six stamps. Proof you really own a level.
Each level ends with a skills test, so moving up is a decision you can back with evidence. It keeps practice honest, gives you a target for the week and makes progress easy to see, for yourself or for a class.
- Level 1 testbounces, straddles, side swings
- Level 2 testfootwork and first crosses
- Level 3 testturns, doubles, backwards
- Level 4 testToad, Cougar, AS family
- Level 5 testcross doubles, Cartwheel
- Level 6 testpower, triples, Roundoff
Want to see exactly what each test covers? The full outline is on the course page.

4A coach on demand, whenever you have ten minutes and a rope
Every lesson is taught by Megan Friesth, an accomplished jump roper who, according to the course publisher, has been teaching jump rope for 16 years. Her clips are short and demonstrated at a pace you can follow, so you can practise in a garage, a gym hall or a living room with enough ceiling height.
The value is not one flashy trick. It is a reliable order of skills and someone showing each one cleanly.
Our take after going through the outline
PE teachers: run a rope unit without demonstrating every skill yourself
Put a lesson on the projector, let the video show the move, and spend your time walking the room. The levels translate neatly into weeks of a unit.
Show, then coach
Students watch a clean demonstration while you give individual feedback.
Levels as lesson blocks
Getting Started plus six levels give a ready-made sequence to follow.
Built-in check-ins
Skills tests make a simple, fair end-of-level assessment.
Buying for a whole class
Schools on iPads can use Apple’s education volume purchasing for the iOS edition; others can contact the publisher for a setup.
Two editions. Pick the one that matches your screen.
Skipping Skills exists as a web course and as a separate iOS app. They are bought separately, so buying one does not unlock the other. Our links go to the web edition.

Questions people ask before they buy
Answers are based on the information published on the course page. If something has changed, the store page wins.
How long can I use the course?
Access lasts one year from the day you buy. After that you would need to purchase again to keep watching.
Which devices does the web edition work on?
Any phone, tablet or computer with a web browser and an internet connection. You can sign in on several devices, but you can only watch on one at a time.
Do I get the iOS app if I buy the web edition?
No. The iOS app is sold separately on the App Store, and the web edition is a separate product on Thinkific.
I have never skipped. Is this too advanced?
No. The Getting Started section covers choosing, sizing, adjusting and straightening a rope before your first jumps, and Level 1 begins with the basic bounce.
What does it cost?
The course page listed $9.99 at the time of writing. Prices can change, so check the current price on Thinkific before you buy.
Can I try anything before paying?
Yes. The course outline marks several lessons as free previews, including the whole Getting Started section and the first lesson of each level.
How do I buy it for several students?
For iPads, the publisher points to “Skipping Skills Unlocked” on the App Store and Apple’s volume purchase program for education. Without iOS devices, the publisher asks schools to get in touch with them directly.
Who sells the course?
The course creator sells it through the Thinkific platform. StreamSkillForge is an independent review site run by Dot IT OÜ; we do not sell the course or handle payments.
